This site is a tribute to Martin Redston, born in London on July 14, 1949. He was a family man, devoted grandfather, neighbour, friend, professional structural and civil engineer and community activist. Martin is very much loved and will be missed but always remembered.
Martin founded his structural engineering consultancy business, Martin Redston Associates, in 1993. It is a successful, thriving business operating throughout the London area built on Martin's reputation for quality and professionalism. Martin gave his time and energy to the local community selflessly becoming involved in campaigns concerning redevelopment proposals in the area, the preservation of trees, the Stables Art Gallery and many arts activities. He was Chairman of Brent Arts Council, co-chair of Keep Willesden Green, Chair of Madhatters Theatre Club and a regular contributor to Brent Connects and other forums.
Martin was intelligent, opinionated with a great sense of humour and was always a person who could be counted on to be a helping hand.
He was diagnosed with mesothelioma, a non-curable cancer, early in 2021. He had an optimistic outlook and determined to do as much as he could for as long as he could. He worked until December 2021 and even to a small extent when in palliative care up to just before his death on 2nd February 2022.
We are so sorry to hear that Martin has passed away . He was always so helpful and generous with his time and such a kind man . May his memory always be a blessing .
May his soul be bound in the bond of life, forever
